eLearning SIG: Driving Training Engagement Using the 10 Principles of Burning Man

Event Date/Time

  • Tuesday, February 13, 2018
    6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

805 SW Broadway, 9th Floor
United States

CANCELLED! May be rescheduled for a later date TBD.

Experience how the 10 Burning Man Principles that guide 70,000 strangers to the Nevada Black Rock desert every summer, can infuse authentic engagement into your next classroom, webinar, or eLearning training. Harvest some playa inspiration and leave with a digital checklist compiling 30 ideas to revitalize and invigorate learners. Bare ideas strongly encouraged; clothing required.

Melissa Beatty has over 10 years of training and instructional design experience. Most recently serving as a Training Manager for a local software company, she has scoped, designed, and managed projects large and small. Her advanced knowledge of adult learning theory, strategic business perspective, and emotional intelligence earns her the respect of peers and managers alike.

Melissa takes her work, but not herself, seriously. When she’s not attending the burn, she can be found unsuccessfully training her five-year-old to turn off lights, making slow but steady progress in her aerial silks class, and generally masquerading as a typical suburban wife with her husband in Vancouver, WA.
