Going Independent
Ever wonder what it takes to be an independent consultant or run your own business? Do you want to hear best practices for this career choice?

Join our panel discussion, where three different independent consultants share what's involved and what they've learned. They are:

  • Larry Ferguson - Owner of Ferguson Leadership, where he assists new managers and teams to realize higher-quality results in less time.
  • Ursina Teuscher - Decision coach and consultant, helping organizations and individuals think more systematically and creatively about achieving their goals.
  • Amy Westfall - Training manager and instructional designer, experienced in establishing large scale corporate training curriculum, and in developing eLearning, instructor-led classes, and performance support tools.

About the Career Focus Special Interest Group (SIG)
Regardless of where you are on the career-employment spectrum - from just graduating and stepping into the local workforce to being happily employed by the same employer for many years - you might not have considered that we all have something in common: The need to be prepared for change.

The Career Focus SIG aims to keep you prepared for change, self-sought or not. Whether it's bringing your resume up-to-date in case that dream job pops up or learning how to make effective use of Oregon's unemployment organizations due to a sudden company downsize, we are here to support you by offering events demonstrating the resources available to put your goals within reach.

This SIG is for current Cascadia Chapter members only.

If you have any questions, you can contact Kerri Nussbaum, CPLP, kerrin@teleport.com.
