Stories That Shape Us: An Evening of Live Storytelling for L&D, T&D, and HR Professionals

Step away from PowerPoints and panel discussions—this event is about raw, real human connection. Over pizza (and beer available for purchase), you’ll hear true, personal stories told live by professionals who’ve been in the trenches of Learning & Development, Talent & Development, and Human Resources.

Each storyteller has just 5–7 minutes to share the moments that shaped their careers: the spectacular failures that taught them everything, the lessons they never expected to learn, the culture shifts they witnessed or sparked, and the sudden “aha” realizations that changed their paths forever.

These aren’t polished case studies—they’re vulnerable, authentic, unforgettable experiences:

  • Challenging broken systems and daring to reinvent themselves.
  • Facing burnout and finding their way to breakthrough.
  • Rediscovering the human side of HR and L&D—the “why” that keeps us in the work.

In the tradition of The Moth, these stories reveal how professionals navigate risk, failure, reinvention, and transformation. The best stories happen when we’re pushed to our limits, when we’re forced to choose, and when we discover something about ourselves we didn’t know was there.

Come for the pizza. Stay for the stories that will make you laugh, wince, reflect, and maybe even see your own journey in a new light.

This is where professional development meets the timeless art of storytelling—one true story at a time.

Food & Refreshments

Complimentary pizza and salad will be provided, with beer available for purchase throughout the event, making this both an educational and social gathering.
